This is my portfolio, and all the pieces of work in it are all expressing what kind of person I am. I feel that some of my poems are my best work that i have done and published on here. I feel that i am very good at creating rhymes. Due to my very well accumulated vocabulary. Thanks to my wonderful english teacher this year. He is really a good guy. Some things that i dont like about my portfolio is that i dont have too much media on it. By media i mean some of my artwork, and my photography. But oh well, no use crying over spilt milk. Thank you.

The world around us today is changing, at an alarmingly fast pace. The new forms of energy that have been harvested are becoming more and more accepted in todays society. There are the classic forms of energy such as wind, water, petroleum, and solar. Then there are the new forms of energy such as geothermal power. We as humans seem to go through power and energy like its going to be around forever, and we waste so much of it. Scientists are trying to come up with new forms  of energy that are less harmful to the environment when we try to conserve and harnest it. The fact of the matter is that finding these new forms of energy is much harder than it really sounds. there is only so much that scientists can do, in trying to create new forms of energy. Geothermal energy is something that I mentioned earlier and is energy that is harvested from heat that is produced and extracted from the earth. this heat actually comes from radioactive decay of minerals. And also from solar energy that has been absorbed in through the surface. This form of energy is cost effective, reliabe, sustainable, and environmentally friendly. Scientists now a days have also been experimenting with a little thing called nuclear fission. ( no pun intended). this is harnesting the power that a atom produces when it splits. It is also the driving force of nuclear weapons. When an atom is split it creates free nuetrons and photons in the form of gamma rays, if only we had more technological advances in ways of capturing this energy and putting it to good use. Those are some of the new forms of energy that have been turning some heads, but lets not forget about the old kinds of energy that have been helping out humanity throughout the centuries. Water power energy has been around forever. Capturing the power of the tides andd using them to harnest electricity. this comes at close to no cost to yhe environment and is simple enough for every one to use.  this is mostly pronounced as hydroelectricity. Solar power is another form of energy, it hasnt been around for too long but it is somewhat reliable in some ways. Although it really isnt all too powerful, it is quite easy to obtain. Since this form of energy is solely absorbed from the sun. Like how plants use photosynthesis to get thier enegy, we will do the same. Some of the ideas from the novel A Brave New World arent really that far out of reach, although they dont really go into detail about theyre main source of energy. But if I had to guess I would say that they mostly use solar energy to run some of thier big assembly lines. But not the same solar energy that we use today, something a little more potent that is more reliable to thier needs. I also noticed that they fly around in flying space ships or something like that, they would probably be using a sort of synthetic petroleum, or petroleum that was man produced. To better fit the qualifications of the World State. In conclusion the technological advances that we have today really arent that far off of what was stated in this world renouned novel, that was written back in the nineteen thirties. humanity as a whole is really only a few steps away from finding a source of energy that is infinate and reusable, at no cost to the environment. I can feel it in my heart, we are so close.

When I first heard a bout the world ending in 2012, I didnt really think much of it. I just thought that it was stupid and there was no way the world was going to end so soon. But I have been watching the news and the weather channel more lately and I have noticed a lot of changes and catastrophies in the earths climate. There have been way more earthquakes lately. All over the world, and with each Earthquake there are multiple casualties. There have also been more volcanos erupting, just the other day a volcano erupted in Iceland. This volcanic eruption caused a great disturbance in the United Kingdom. All of the volcanic ash that was spewing out of the volcano traveled all the way to the U.K.. this is such a  problem because all the planes in the U.K. can no longer fly. So all flights going to the U.K. or leaving  have been cancelled until further notice. The volcanic ash has particles of glass and lava, so it would cause the planes engines to fail. This is a great disaster that has devastated most of the world. There have been a lot of these disasters, and i havent even mentioned the earthquake that destroyed Haiti. There have also been a lot of close calls that happened. Such as the metior Shower that happened in southern Wisconsin. This meteor shower made the sky light up as if were day light, and people were frightened and called the cops. I believe that all of these Disasters are warnings of whats to come in the near future. I dont quite now what the future holds for the world. But with the way things are going now it doesnt look very good. I think that there is going to be a cataclismic disaster that will effect everyone on global scale…
